Dannielle Says:
I’m pretty floored by the fact that there are actually groups of people that are PROUD of the fact that they’re harboring hate for an individual based on who she has fallen in love with…ARE Y’ALL FOR REAL?!
I’m so happy Ellen stood up for herself. In all honesty, though, she stood up for so much more than just that, you know? I think a lot of the time when a large group of people screams ‘you’re wrong’ to our faces, we shrink into a corner and feel defeated. If we don’t feel defeated, we scream and yell back and nothing ever gets solved bc a bunch of mad people screaming at a bunch of mad people does absolutely nothing. Speaking out, standing your ground, holding your head high and having a calm/cool/collected conversation, that does something. That changes people’s minds.
This is the classiest shit in all the land y’all, Ellen wins.

Kristin Says:
It is a brilliant thing when you see someone stand up and speak to millions of people, and say the words that you believe in your heart.
We had a student at Wilkes University who told us, after we spoke to her school, that “by coming to my campus, you were saying the things I can’t always bring myself to say. You were sharing my views on life with a larger group, something I desperately want to do. I really hope you know how great all of you are and the importance of what you’re doing.”
This is exactly how I felt when I watched this video. Ellen spoke with class, with kindness, and with clarity. This is also how I live my life, how I go about my work, and how I exist in this world. I treat others with kindness. I work every day to help bring that kindness outward so that it can have a lasting impact.
How can anything else matter more?
